My good buddy, Glen Plake, sent an email update which said,
This is a short video about the 508 this weekend. I have done nearly 3000 miles in the last 2 months prepping for this. Sleeping and eating now!!! We will keep everyone informed of our progress. Thanks for all your support. G
Glen is competing in the Silver State 508 as part of Team Chase. What makes this team special is the fact that Team Chase will be attempting the Silverstate 508 which is a race across Nevada, 508 miles in 48 hours on September 19-21 (Saturday-Monday), 2015 . Also known as the world’s premier 48-hour ultra cycling race. The team consists of 4 able-bodied cyclists, paraplegic handcyclist David Lee, and quadriplegic endurance athlete, Lance Weir. We will be using both of Lance’s tandem-recumbent-handcycle-trikes in a relay style.
This 508-mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none.
They are in need of donations and every little bit helps! Here is a link to their GoFund Me Page – http://www.gofundme.com/3s2fcqzw
Here is a video of Team Chase and their final training day as they prepare for the 508.
YouTube Description: Team Chase final training day in advance of Silver State 508. First ever challenged athlete attempt to complete all 508 miles.
From our team’s spiritual leader Bill Walton,
“As we seek freedom, liberty and independence, we dedicate our dreams to Lance Weir: the ultimate endurance athlete of the millennium.”
