NHRA Northwest Nationals Friday Practice

Given the opportunity to shoot at Pacific Raceways for the the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals I jumped at the chance.  Today for practice, I didn’t have on track media so the shots I managed were from the balcony, so enjoy the teasers.  Saturday, I’ll be shooting from the strip! So stay tuned…

Generally seeing guys in gas maks would freak me out a bit… However at NHRA Nitroheads or those that seek Nitromethane (CH3NO2) they live and breath this stuff!  If you haven’t had the opportunity to stand behind a Top Fuel dragster when it starts up it’ll bring a tear to your eye… And cause shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, and intense feelings of excitement.

John Force hanging out at the burnout box enjoying a Orange Fanta Soda. I really enjoy capturing images of celebrities, race car drivers and those people that seem to be in an almost unobtainable upper echelon doing every day normal people stuff.

Then we have a shot of John Force doing something most of us can only dream of, but could never afford. Running a 7,000hp Funny Car down a 1/4 mile track in 4 seconds at 300mph.

And we all thought kids rolling tires in the streets was an American past time… Proof its still alive!

My two favorite hobbies cars and cameras has melded into a passion for automotive photography. Starting off photographing Rally in the Pacific Northwest has led me to many other styles of racing: mud bog, tough trucks, Redline Time Attack, AutoX and more. Anything with a motor and at speed is where I enjoy being. Visit Site →
