After a quick stop into Parc Expose in the town of Dufur, it was off to Stage 12: Summit. This location has to be one of the most spectacular sights, looking in every direction you can see a different mountain. With Mt. Hood the most prominent, you can also see Adams, Jefferson, St. Helen’s and the faint tip of Rainier.
Rally cars speed down a long dirt road passing. Coming up on the spectator stage, there is a hay-bale chicane with a hard left onto tarmac. Center Ridge Road is a short lived one mile of smooth pavement, before a left near the old school house, onto the silty, washed out road that I drove the day before.
Here are a few of my favorite shots:

Watching cars speed down a long dirt road reaching up to 100mph (David Higgins), then drifting a sharp right hand corner:
Brian Gottlieb/Blake Lind, known as The Dirty Drifters and you can see why, as they get sideways at Starveout III Stage 14Jamie Thomas (A.K.A. SubieGal) loves the attention of the photogs!
My two favorite hobbies cars and cameras has melded into a passion for automotive photography. Starting off photographing Rally in the Pacific Northwest has led me to many other styles of racing: mud bog, tough trucks, Redline Time Attack, AutoX and more. Anything with a motor and at speed is where I enjoy being.
