It’s finally here. Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber is in a Formula 1 Grand Prix for the very last time. The magic number is 215 for the statuesque Australian. He’s won nine times and graced the podiums a staggering thirty-two times in all, while amassing over 1,000 championship points. Known for his gentlemanly nature as well as his incredible driving skills, Webber is a fan favorite and will surely be missed.
His time in the world best team has been spent mostly overshadowed by one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers there has ever been, Sebastian Vettel. While the young German is making history with every lap and taking his place among the sport’s greats, Webber is done wondering about what might have been as he moves on to the WEC with Porsche. While we look forward to see what the future holds for him in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, let’s take a look back at some photos from Mark Webber’s final year in Formula One. Cheers, mate!
