Tonight the third season finale of the Global Rallycross Championship (GRC) blasts off at 7:00pm EST on ESPN2. Yes indeed, there have only been three of what has to have been, one of the most-talked-about motorsport series this year. The GRC caused all kinds of waves in 2013; and, one of the biggest at this week’s SEMA was the announcement that Red Bull will be their title sponsor in a multi-year deal starting from next year. The Austrian energy drink company has had their finger on the pulse of extreme sports all over the world. Quite frankly there’s nothing sweeter than a big name sponsor for anything, especially a developing rallycross series like the GRC. We’re all terribly excited to see what comes down the pike for 2014, but until then let’s take a look at the contender’s for tonight’s race.
Ayton Senna said, “Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose.” Only three drivers have stood at the very top of the podium this season, and two of them will be racing tonight. They are new champion Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen and Scott Speed. Every other man is trying to end the season better than second, and can you really blame them? Nobody wants this to be the year in rallycross they’re going to try to forget, but with sixteen ace drivers and the championship already decided, we could be looking at the wildest round yet.
From 6-7pm EST, you can live stream the pre-race radio show at www.grcliveradio.com, hosted by Jim Beaver (The Down & Dirty Radio Show) and Kate Osbourne (GRC/ESPN Reporter).
If you can’t watch the race on TV, then keep up with official Live Timing/Scoring at the following:

- Mobile Link: http://www.livetiming.net/GRC/
The official GRC Twitter feed will be providing updates throughout the event and will announce the winner of their Favorite Driver poll afterwards. My Life at Speed will also be live-tweeting color commentary for the TV broadcast just without colorful language (ha!). We’ll also provide a recap of the supercars race afterwards along with official videos and photos.
