Footage of Ford rally team testing their then-new Escort WRC on snow for the Rallye Monte Carlo 1997. It was the first year for Malcolm Wilson’s M-Sport running Ford’s WRC program, with two factory team Escorts driven by double World Champion Carlos Sainz and Armin Schwarz. After a rough start Schwarz was replaced by Juha Kankkunen in the middle of the season and by the end of the season Sainz was a serious contender for the drivers championship title with two wins.
