Battle of the Fords: Roy Hill’s Cobra Jet vs Tanner Foust’s GRC Fiesta ST

The day after thrilling crowds in the penultimate round of the Global Rallycross Championship season, Tanner Foust stuck around in Charlotte, North Carolina for a battle of the Fords cars at the zMAX Dragway against the legendary, Roy Hill.  Foust used the same battle-worn GRC Fiesta ST that tussled with a water barrier the day before.  On the other hand, drag racing legend Roy Hill, brought along his Cobra Jet.  PRI reports that if you buy a 2013 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet then you can attend Roy Hill’s Drag Racing School for free, which sounds like a great deal to me!  Maybe Tanner will get one of these bad boys for his garage.  Watch the video and you’ll see why.

YouTube Description:
On one side, you have a 2013 Cobra Jet — a 5.0L V8 powerplant with a Ford Racing-built Whipple 2.9L Supercharger. On the other is a Ford Fiesta ST Competition Car — a 2.0L, 550+ horsepower engine with an OlsbergsMSE gearbox with custom ratios.

For fun, we took one of each to zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, with drivers Roy Hill and Tanner Foust…just to see how the two would compare on the quartermile.
