JR Hildebrand appears to have the race in hand. BUT! In the last turn on the last lap while lapping the slower Charlie Kimball, he slams in to the turn 4 wall. Dan Wheldon, running 2nd, passed the crashed #4 National Guard car to take his 2nd Indy 500 victory. Probably one of the craziest finishes in the 100 year history of the event.
