As the weekend progressed during the 2014 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, I found myself turning my attention, more and more, to one prominent feature.  Those amazing stacks.  Like many things in the world, they come in all shapes, sizes and colors.  Each with individual theories about how it’s length, taper, flare and diameter will benefit the engine sitting just below.  Regardless of the science, the form of each of them is what caught my attention this weekend.  Whether they were intended to be or not, each one is a beautiful work of art with distinct features and patina that make them all unique and interesting to study.
