My Life at Speed has always been a home for race stories from the racers themselves. One such racer is Ryan Schnell. If it’s got anything do with an engine and a steering wheel, count him in! His passion for motorsports began when he first laid eyes on a race car. After that his goal was to learn the ins-and-outs by building his skills as a rally co-driver. Ryan’s competed in the Rally America National Championship Series, Rally America Regional Co-Drivers Championship and legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

In 2007, he made the brave move to the driver’s seat; even earning an invitation to try out for the factory Volkswagen team in the inaugural VW Jetta TDI Cup Series.  A far cry from the days when he would slide his old 1988 Audi 80 Quattro on snow packed, twisty mountain roads around his hometown of Vail, Colorado.

He’s thrilled us with his adventures on and off the track.  Now he’s embarking on another one and we have the chance to help him get there!  PEAK Motor Oil has launched a nationwide driver search.  From a panel of judges that includes the likes of Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer and Danica Patrick, PEAK will select ten drivers for three days at Richard Petty Driving Experience for Stock Car School.  The winner gets additional race training, as well as a chance to become licensed.  This is an opportunity to qualify for a professional NASCAR race with full support — including car, crew and equipment!  Check out Ryan’s video below:

Ryan’s entry has been up on the website for a week and is already over 1,200 points.  Each vote on his contestant profile page gets him five points; and each view of his YouTube video entry gets him two points.  You can vote for Ryan up to five times a day.  Come on, My Life at Speeders! Let’s see what we can do to get one of our very own, into the Peak Stock Car Dream Challenge.
