I think that over the last 10 years, every time September 11th comes upon us, we all reflect on where we were that fateful day. How we started hearing the news and how we all then sat in disbelief, watching the images unfold on the newscasts – literally not being able to comprehend the enormity what we were feeling as a country. It is hard to believe that 10 years have gone by and I want all of us to take a moment to remember those who lost their lives and also those that served our country that day.
My life long friend, Gary Biggerstaff is a firefighter here in Long Beach. He puts on an event every year called “Remember 9/11 – The Ride”. He is one of those guys that always goes out of his way to pay tribute to the people who lost their lives on 9/11. He is one of my best friends and our sons hang out together too. I am proud to help support his efforts. If you live in the Long Beach area, join us for the 10th Anniversary – Remember 9/11 – The Ride. And if you just feel like you want to pay your respects, let him know that you are moved by what he is doing as a private citizen by joining his Facebook page and letting him know what you think of his efforts.
On a happier note, we chased the same girls around Lake Havasu for most of our childhood. I am lucky and honored to have such a great friend for most of my life. Thanks buddy for all that you do. – GT
