My Life at Speed is about all things fast, interesting people, and whatever else I think someone out there will appreciate. My name Is Greg Tracy. I am the 6 time Pikes Peak Champion. I make my living as a stunt driver in movies and commercials. The lifestyle associated with going fast is one filled with high energy characters, risk takers, and lots of great stories. That is what you will find here on My Life at Speed.
The 2010 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is coming up fast. June 27th Alexander Smith, son of legendary Malcolm Smith, and I will be pulling up to the line on what I believe is the best motorcycle I will have ever ridden there, the 2010 Ducati Multistrada. We have been out testing twice with plans on hitting the track again this week. The Bike turns in so well and has tons of my favorite friend, horsepower. I have won the race the last two years. In 2008 I ran the Ducati Hypermotard.
Ducati was very happy to have the win, and I was invited to the MotoGP race at Indy that year as their guest. A really wonderful organization. In 2009 I had intended to ride the Ducati Street Fighter, but it did not make it into production in time, so I rode the BMW HP2 that my friend Roger Malcome was kind enough to let me use. You have to be a pretty nice guy to let someone use your motorcycle for a race that takes you through 156 turns, with 5000 feet of elevation change in 12.42 miles, with up to 6500 foot drop offs. If you make a mistake in this race, both you and the motorcycle do not return home.
As Bobby Unser once said, ” there are places at Pikes Peak that if you go off, you will starve to death before you hit the ground!”
This website will keep you updated with the exploits of Ducati Spider Grips as we get close to and race this years Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Please come back and visit often, we will keep updating as we go.
