Jenson Button Tests the McLaren P1™ at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed

This year is McLaren’s 50th anniversary and they’re going all-out for the occasion.

YouTube Description: The McLaren P1™ made its global dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this month. Behind the wheel was none other than 2009 Formula 1™ World Champion, Jenson Button. Watch this exclusive footage of Jenson as he tackles the Goodwood Hill, in the one of the most innovative and groundbreaking supercars to ever grace the event in its 20 year history.

This car makes beautiful sounds.

Formula One driver, Jensen Button, was the one who piloted the many stars of the show such as the M8D Can Am racer from the early 1970s and the new McLaren P1.

The talented driver got behind the wheel of the newest hybrid hyper car and sped through the course, stone-faced as ever, while his helmet-wearing passenger was bouncing around. The new 903 bhp P1 let out a classic McLaren exhaust note that made us forget about all that electric-hybrid-do-hickey mated to the engine.

“A lot of the experiences that we have been through in Formula 1™ helped us build the McLaren P1™. This is a thoroughbred race car for the road. It looks beautiful, it’s stunning…” — Jenson Button, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
