In Film: Dream Racer

The 2013 film about Christophe Barriere-Varju’s solo attempt in the Dakar Rally still seems to be flying under the radar. The feature length documentary is not only the story of Barriere-Varju and his challenge of a lifetime, but of film-maker Adam Simon Lee, who has longed to make a film like this for most of his life. Both men need to overcome so much to bring this film to life that is exists more as a motivational story than a motorsports saga.

The tagline of the film is probably more appropriate than anything I can say: “It’s at the edge of who you are that you discover who you can be.”
