Our good friends over at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca are holding their annual toy drive to help benefit The Salvation Army.  Below is the press release with all the details.

Mazda Raceway to Host Holiday Toy Drive

to Benefit The Salvation Army
MONTEREY, Calif., Oct. 27, 2015 – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will host its annual Holiday Toy Drive to benefit The Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula Corps Toy Drive from Nov. 2-Dec. 11, 2015, where all donors of a new, unwrapped toy will receive a free general admission ticket to the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix.

The donated toys, for children up to age 12, can be dropped off at two locations at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – the main SCRAMP administrative office (open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) or the Souvenir Store (Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) located in the paddock. The general admission ticket, which includes paddock access, can be redeemed Saturday, April 30, of the IMSA event.

The annual toy drive – which involves many local businesses, clubs, and other organizations – provides The Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula Corps with thousands of new toys to distribute during the holiday season to local families in need. Toys are distributed through the “Angel Tags” and “Adopt-A-Family” programs. Last year’s donations totaled more than 10,000 new toys and gifts.

The local Salvation Army chapter has offered free services in Monterey County since 1895, including child care, social services, housing and worship services. The nearby Salvation Army Good Samaritan Center is located in Marina, Calif.

I've been around some form of racing since I was a kid. First hanging around Ascot in Southern California. Then, after moving to Texas as a teen, I got hooked on drag racing and did that for almost fifteen years. In between I have raced Dirt bikes and Quads. 2011 Marked my 8th and final year racing up Pikes Peak: Five in the Pro Quad division and three in Time Attack. Future racing plans are in the works, but until then I'm at the track shooting for My Life at Speed as much as I possibly can.
