Dallenbach Racing Announces 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Return

(Colorado Springs, CO) – Dallenbach Racing is pleased to announce Paul Dallenbach’s return to the 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

After a record setting year at the 2015 event, Paul Dallenbach and the team have decided to make a class change from Open Wheel Division back to the Unlimited Division. “The reason we decided to go Unlimited is because the PPIHC is phasing out Open Wheel. We beat all the Unlimited cars this year, but realistically we will have to go 35 to 40 seconds faster next year to be competitive,” stated Dallenbach when asked about the class change. ”You never know who will show up and you also have the chance for a Manufacture to show up. Hoosier Tire is committed to give me the best racing slick out there.”

Dallenbach added, “With the return to the Peak, LoopHole Racing will once again be fielding my car and we are committed to getting a finish time of under 9 minutes for the 100th Anniversary of the first Race to the Clouds.” In addition to the return of LoopHole Racing, 2015 sponsors Famous Dave’s BBQ (Basic Food Group), Alpine Bank, and Hoosier Racing Tires will be back with Dallenbach. About The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC)

The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC), also known as The Race to the Clouds, is an annual invitational automobile and motorcycle hill climb to the summit of Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain in Colorado, USA every year on the last Sunday of June. Founded in 1916 by Spencer Penrose (also the founder of The Broadmoor Hotel, Pikes Peak Highway and El Pomar Foundation), The PPIHC is a race ran on a 12.42 mile (19.99 kilometer) course on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain, that begins at 9,390 feet (2,862.07 meters) above sea-level and finishes at the 14,115 foot (4,302.25 meter) Summit of spectacular Pikes Peak – Americas Mountain. As the drivers climb toward the Summit, the thin air slows reflexes and saps muscle strength in addition to robbing internal combustion engines of up to 30% of the power they were capable of at the Start Line. Competitors and vehicles must be in top shape and condition simply to finish, let alone win. This year’s race features five divisions and seven classes of motorcycles/quads, and four divisions and eight classes of cars/trucks challenging the fully paved Pikes Peak Highway. 2016 marks the 100 year anniversary of the Race to the Clouds.
