Spring is here and car shows too! The 2nd annual Cars & Courage happened on April 26, 2014 and was presented by the Green Township VFW Post 10380 in Cincinnati.

“The VFW Post 10380 is a non-profit veteran organization dedicated to fostering public awareness of Veteran causes through community partnerships.”

Fantastic sunny spring weather sparkled on a diverse group of cars such as vintage, muscle, classics, imports, customs, hot rods, and a few motorcycles. A steady flow of car lovers and their families browsed the many cars for the entirety of the event. A DJ continuously played oldies and popular music, a concession stand offered hot dogs and burgers, a booth featured custom vinyl decals, and the registration tent sold event t-shirts and baskets raffle tickets.

I had much fun meeting and chatting with many of the car owners and event goers. I very much enjoy car shows like this where friendly people and families from many local communities come together for the love of cars, fun, and support a great cause.

The show was well organized and had much support staff. It was comprised of patriotic opening and closing ceremonies that included the sweet voice of a woman singing the National Anthem standing among uniformed veterans and American flags flying in the background. An awards ceremony was also held at the end of the show giving away 20+ different awards recognizing the diverse group of show cars.

This show was a great opener to the local season of car shows to come. With the commitment to the cause of Veterans by this organization, this show will continue to grow and be more successful in their efforts every year.

Enjoy these photographs of some of my favorite cars at the show, I hope you like them too!

My Life at Speed Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Chris Nazarenus, had a chance meeting with key executives at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1998. It would be the "Jerry McGuire" moment that would change her life forever. Although she knew nothing about motorsports at that time, the chance meeting would influence her passion for all things fast, great stories and interesting people. That's what you will find here at My Life at Speed.
