AMA Flat track legend Ricky Graham passed away on January 22, 1998. Ricky is still to this day considered one of the best flat track riders ever. Everyone remembers 1993…the year that changed everything. That year Ricky put on the most amazing comeback in dirt track history. He won twelve races (including six in a row) riding a private Honda.
Despite personal issues in his life, he proved to himself and all those who loved him that he was back. The sport has changed, but the titles remain. When you ask riders today about those who influenced them, Ricky’s name is always at the top.
Today as we honor his passing, we are reminded of how truly amazing he was. Here is a tribute to Ricky: (A special thanks to Mia and Chew for the video)
