Tim Bell, driver of the 28 Nissan, was able to walk away from a major crash during the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at Circuit of the Americas on Friday. What looks to be a stuck throttle and/or no brakes at the end of the long backstraight entering Turn 12, Bell avoided other competitors vehicles before heading across the gravel trap. You can see that Bell seems to be trying to scrub off speed and luckily, knew the course well enough to then crash sideways, into the tire barrier.
Bell was able to walk away from this frightening crash.
Great job to Circuit of the Americas for a safe run-off.
