Every time I come here I ask myself if there’s any way this place can get any more crowded, or spread out more than it already is. And every year the answer is: yup. It sure can. Now remember, this is my feet talking here and not me. I love this event and all of the absolute ridiculousness that comes with it. Insane cars, spokes-models, endless sales pitches, after-parties – and the list goes on. But my feet…my feet pretty much think this place is the work of the devil. Late in the day, even this early in the week, I can hear the faint cry of two blistered peds and ten crying toes screaming obscenities at the dirty sinners who mistakenly thought this kind of event is a good idea.
But it is a good idea. A giant cross section of everything in the automotive aftermarket comes together for a week to celebrate their achievements, release new products, make new connections and most importantly, renew connections with friends you may not get to see as often as you like. That’s a pretty cool scene. Over the next several days, I hope we can show you a few of the cool things that caught our eye, and a few friends that we were lucky enough to reconnect with.
Here are a few of my favorite things from day one at SEMA, 2015.
