While some race organizers look to limit garage access or have blocked it completely in the new season, GRAND-AM gives sports car racing fans a look behind the veil during its annual Roar Before the Rolex 24.  From January 4th to 6th 2013, a multitude of racing teams will descend upon the Daytona International Speedway for official testing.  While crews and drivers prepare for the big event in three weeks, fans will not only have garage access but also guided tours of the speedway and participation in forums with various racing personalities.

This video recounts the TRG race team’s experience at last year’s Roar Before the Rolex 24 where they came in as defending GT champions.

Although they inevitably took second place with their Porsche GT3, we see the level of importance this event holds, which is why anyone who can should try to check it out.  51st Rolex 24 ticket holders and children under twelve will enjoy free admission, while others must pay $15 per day.  It seems a small price to pay in order to see or even meet your favourite drivers and their incredible race cars.  The 51st Rolex 24 at Daytona is a twenty-four hour endurance race from January 26th to 27th 2013.
