PHOTOS! Rod Millen Brings Leadfoot Derelicts to Hahei

Leadfoot Derelicts is a unique event bringing together a mix of hot rods, classic and exotic cars, vintage motorcycles and cool things automotive for a couple of hours each Saturday morning in January.

Rod Millen is bringing a piece of Southern California to Hahei. Rod began attending Donut Derelicts in the late 1980’s on Saturday mornings. Hundreds of hot rods, vintage motorcycles and extreme machines arrive as the sun comes up in a Southern California parking lot.  “It has been a fantastic opportunity over the years to walk around and kick the tires of some very cool cars, catch up with old friends have a cup of coffee and donuts and still be back home by 9:00 am. I would love to offer the same experience to New Zealand.”

Rod & Shelly Millen will be hosting each Saturday in January from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Everyone is welcome with or without a vehicle.

Free admission for everyone with or without a show vehicle. Coffee, tea and snacks will be available for purchase.

Event ends at 9:00 am every Saturday so it is literally two hours of fun.

My Life at Speed Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Chris Nazarenus, had a chance meeting with key executives at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1998. It would be the "Jerry McGuire" moment that would change her life forever. Although she knew nothing about motorsports at that time, the chance meeting would influence her passion for all things fast, great stories and interesting people. That's what you will find here at My Life at Speed.
