Ron Howard’s ambitious film “Rush” about Formula One racing in 1976 has an all-new featurette video. New fans of the sport may only know the name Niki Lauda, in association with a fatherly looking gentleman who’s currently the non-executive chairman of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team. However, in the 1970’s he was embroiled in a heated rivalry with British McLaren driver, James Hunt.
The featurette is thankfully spoiler-free and gives interesting insight into the characterization of these two men. There’s also a look at their recreation of the 1976 Grand Prix at the Nüburgring and the accident that almost ended Lauda’s life. If you weren’t looking forward to seeing this film, watching this video just might do the trick. Enjoy!
