All day long race teams would have been steeped in last minute preparations on the cars to make sure everything is perfect. Drivers obsessively rehearsed seat changes in the cars because every second gained or lost during pit stops is crucial. Eventually they’ll have to step away for rest because the marathon session begins tomorrow afternoon. For twenty-four hours straight, crews will catch whatever rest they can between pit stops and possibly repair mechanical failures on the cars. Those whose jobs are behind the steering wheel watch teammates on screens in the pit and real-time telemetry while waiting until their turn comes. Months of hard work, training and preparation has all led to his. This is what they live for.
