Dallenbach Qualifies 1st in Class for Sunday’s 93rd Running of The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

June 25, 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Colorado Springs, CO) –Dallenbach Racing sponsored by Famous Dave’s of Colorado Springs, Alpine Bank, BRM, and Hoosier Racing Tires is pleased to announce the completion of practiceand qualifying sessions for this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Paul Dallenbach had a successful two days ofpractice in the middle and top section on America’s Mountain, with no major incidents either day.

Tuesday, June 23rd took the team to the middle section for the first morning of practice, running from Glen Cove to 16 mile. The team completed several runs and Dallenbach’s times improved with each one, beating his times from last year as well as claiming 1st overall. Wednesday, June 24th moved the team up the mountain, running from Devil’s Playground to the Summit. This would be the first time all month that Dallenbach was able to run all the way to the Summit. Once again with each run he made, his times improved. The morning was finished off with a time of 2:35:66, beating his previous time from last year by 5 seconds and claiming 1st overall for the 2nd day in a row.

As this morning’s session approached, Dallenbach had one thing to achieve. Keep the car 1st in class and place the car in the 2nd spot in line for race day. Two successful runs were made for the team. However, Hill Climb officials due to the run being incomplete for two fellow competitors threw out the 2nd run time of 3:57:05. Shortly after Dallenbach finished his run the course was given the red flag due to a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of the rider in the upper section. This caused the team to have to fall back to the first run time of 4:01:50. This time still puts Dallenbach 1st in class, but will place him 3rd in line for race day.

“The team and myself want to pass on our deepest sympathies to the family of the killed rider,” stated Dallenbach concerning the crash. “We had no issues either morning of practice, the car is running great. Each of our runs all three days we went faster, so I am really looking forward to race day.”

The team will be sitting out the next practice session scheduled and will be doing minor maintenance on the car at PPIR. Peak Week continues for Paul with Fan Fest in downtown Colorado Springs June 26,2015 from 5pm – 10pm. Paul’s next time on the mountain will be this Sunday June 28, 2015 for the 93rd Running of The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
