Ahh, springtime in the Rockies! Snow one weekend and sunny and 80’s the next. Last weekend, Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing (RMVR) held it’s annual Spring Grand Prix out at High Plains Raceway (HPR) near Byers, Colorado. And after the winter like storm the week before, what a perfect weekend it was! As the sun peeked over the eastern horizon, Charlie and I set off to shoot some cool old race cars doing what they do best, running around a racetrack.
Over the last couple years, I’ve shot a few events out at HPR, but because of some physical issues, I was never able to get out and shoot the track they way I wanted. Well, a couple surgeries and a few months later, I finally feel that I can really get to areas of the track that were “off limits” to me before. It’s amazing how much mobility I have gotten back. I look forward to many more events and opportunities to shoot this summer!
More to come, but here are some of our favorite images from the day.
