Sit.Stay.Ride: The Story of America’s Sidecar Dogs

Although I get my sidecar fix strictly on the track, there is a subculture of road-going sidecars that occupy an equally small niche of their world. While road sidecars do not require a passenger to maintain balance at speed, you are missing some of the fun if you don’t have a companion. Enter man’s best friend.
A newly released documentary titled “Sit Stay Ride: The Story of America’s Sidecar Dogs” investigates this perfect pairing. The movie chooses a good subject matter for the gearhead who wants to drag bring the family along to a movie about motorcycles; there is something for every age and persuasion.
For those who want to see the film but aren’t interested in buying a copy, there is a great chance to see the film on the big screen in San Francisco. MotoShopSF and friends are organizing a screening January 26th at 7:30pm. The only catch of course is the need to sell enough advance tickets to secure the theater. In partnership with www.tugg.com those interested can hang out with fellow Bay Area riders and see the film in style. A meet up beforehand is in the works, with details still to come. Your truly will be in attendance, although in an unofficial capacity, so I will be able to actually hang out and not work the event.
So come one, come all, and load up the sidecar with all your friends. The film will not be shown without enough participation, and in advance. Alternately, if you are not in the area but wish to host your own screening, information is available at the film’s website.

Johnny Killmore

Johnny Killmore is a Formula sidecar and motorcycle racer who lives in the Bay Area of California. Fascinated at a young age by machines, Johnny is most comfortable at race tracks, garages, or far away places astride a motorcycle. Having cultivated a life revolving around speed, racing is a natural extension of that. Johnny is also a great story teller so it follows naturally that he would share his adventures and report on the adventures of others. Having formally studied journalism, art, and agriculture, Johnny uses the visual and literary arts to bring to life the challenges, risks, and rewards of living a life at speed.
