One of my friends, Rhys Millen – the 2011 Pikes Peak Hill Climb is right around the corner. Here is at an unveiling of the new car at the Chicago Auto Show. Can’t wait to get back racing…GT.

Rhys Millen and Hyundai took the wrapping off the new Veloster Rallycross race car at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. We had a chance to ask Rhys about the new racing Veloster as well as his plans to try to capture the Pikes Peak Hill Climb record.

Millen is teaming up with high flying motorcycle racer Robbie Maddison this year to race the new Veloster rally car at the X Games.

Millen, who also happened to build the racing Hyundai Velsoter, will also race the 500-horsepower AWD beast of a rally car in the 2011 U.S. Rallycross Championship.

Last year Millan also came to Colorado in a specially built Hyundai in the hopes of breaking the Pike Peak Unlimited Hill Climb record.

We had a chance to ask Rhys about the new racing Veloster, as well as his plans to try to capture the Pikes Peak Hill Climb record in 2011.
