The Falkner Livingston Team made a big mark in the World Speed Finals at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The team brought several motorbikes, a new Suzuki GSXR 1000 which ran in the MPS/G class and a Honda CBR 600RR for the P/P class.
We also brought our Turbo Honda CBR 600RR that we built last year for the MPS/BF, and our Kawasaki ZX-14 for the P/P class,” said Falkner Livingston Team Manager Becca Livingston. “All are K&N equipped, of course. In the desert conditions at Bonneville, K&N Filters play a huge part of making sure the motorcycles run well. We rely on K&N oil and air filter to work when we’re hitting speeds of over 200 mph.
Falkner Livingston brought a new rider to the salt. Greg Tracy is a Pike’s Peak champion and a stunt driver for the movie industry.
We had Greg licensed to ride up to 200 mph,” said Livingston. “Now we have quite the arsenal of riders for high-speed runs. Greg along with Susan Robertson, Jason McVicar, Paul Livingston, Paul Thede and Greg Tracy are all our B level riders. Most of our riders are A level which means they can run more than 200 mph. Jason McVicar has a AA license which means he can go more than 250 mph.
The World Speed Finals were cut short by a storm. “We only had two days to run,” said Livingston. “In that time we got a record number of runs in, in fact the most of any team on the salt. We were also able to qualify on three of records were up against.”
Paul Thede had a new top speed of 201.860. “We were only able to set one new record for the ZX-14, but it was one of the best times we’ve had at Bonneville,” said Livingston. “The weather was actually cool, the motorbikes ran well and we had a blast.”
Falkner Livingston heads to the Baja 1000 at the end of October.
