Guess Who Is Joining Greg Tracy & Patrick Dempsey in Sonoma for the Maserati Trofeo World Series? Savannah Ivanitski – that’s who!

My Life at Speed is excited to announce that Savannah Ivanitski will be joining Greg Tracy and Patrick Dempsey in Sonoma for the Maserati Trofeo World Series. Savannah will have the opportunity to be behind the wheel of these world class cars several times throughout the weekend, giving media and guests the thrill of what driving a Maserati is like….in real time!!  Savannah’s combination of motorsports experience will provide fans following from a distance, a unique glimpse into this “historic” event. My Life at Speed will keep all of us up to date on the “Savannah Ivanitski Maserati Driving Experience” as she gets the dream job of driving guests around Sonoma and allowing all of us a behind the scenes view of driving a Maserati.  Did I mention that she is in a Maserati in Sonoma for the perfect race weekend, hanging out with Greg Tracy and Patrick Dempsey as they discuss racing lines??

Yeah- life is tough for all us heading to Sonoma. 🙂

When deciding who the best choice would be to provide commentary, it was very clear. Here is what Savannah had to say about her love of Maserati.

“I remember going crazy over all of the Maserati’s in Monaco at the 2009 Grand Prix. In the last three years I have kept my eyes on wanting to get behind the wheel someday. I am totally psyched for this weekend and getting to finally drive a Maserati, and at Sonoma no less. I can’t think My Life At Speed enough for this opportunity and including me in this fabulous weekend. We all can’t wait to see how Greg and Patrick do in their races!” – Savannah Ivanitski

Savannah – we are all jealous….just sayin’. – CNaz.

About the Maserati Trofeo World Series USA Debut

MASERATI TROFEO MC WORLD SERIES
To Debut in USA at Sonoma with Driving Team of Greg Tracy and Patrick Dempsey

Hills of Wine Country to be filled with the iconic Maserati exhaust note September 21-23 in support of first North American visit of the World Touring Car Championship

Englewood Cliffs, NJ, September 11, 2012– Maserati North America is proud to announce that the Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo World Series will make its North American debut at Sonoma Raceway the weekend of September 21st with the World Touring Car Championship. Famed actor and accomplished race driver Patrick Dempsey and top stuntman, racer, and Hot Wheels X Games Double Loop Dare World Record holder, Greg Tracy will be competing in the GranTurismo MC Trofeo with series title sponsor Bowers & Wilkins livery.

Maserati will also use the weekend to celebrate the first deliveries of the new 2013 Maserati GranTurismo Sport and Sport Convertible. As in all Maseratis the revised 454 hp V8 engine is compact and placed behind the front axle in a front-mid engine arrangement. Unique to its segment this design feature comes directly from the racetrack and results in an extraordinarily balanced automobile which inspires confidence in its pilot and comfort for its passengers. Like the limited- edition GranTurimo MC on which the Trofeo car is based, the globally acclaimed design of the Sport has been accented with a reshaped fascia from the wind tunnel, which delivers better airflow for cooling and aerodynamics. New, contoured seats finished in sumptuous Italian leather are the defining feature of the GranTurismo Sport cabin in which four adults can enjoy everyday driving in the timeless elegance that defines the Maserati tradition.

About Savannah Ivanitski

Savannah started karting at the age of 11 but her love for racing began much earlier than that. Being born into a racing family, speed was always in her blood. Spending many of her days at the racetrack, Savannah got tired of just watching and saved up enough money to buy her own kart. What started out a hobby, soon turned into a deep passion and a burning desire to be on the track.

Savannah began karting with the SCCA’s Formula Junior Program and participated in SCCA Solo Nationals in 2008 and 2009. Following a childhood dream, in 2010, Savannah became the youngest driver to finish the world famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Savannah was awarded the Rookie of the Year award, and finished third in the Time Attack 2WD class. Early in the 2011 season, Savannah earned her national competition license with the Sports Car Club of America. By the time she turned 18, Savannah had two Pikes Peak International Hill Climb finishes. Savannah’s other experiences include ice racing with Colorado’s Our Gang Ice Racing, participation with National Auto Sports Association, and SCCA Rally Cross Nationals.

In 2012, Savannah returned to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb as part of the Fingers Crossed Racing Team. Savannah finished the 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 17th position; Savannah and four other drivers in class competed on a shortened course, due to adverse weather conditions on Pikes Peak. Though she saw the checkered flag at only halfway up the mountain, Savannah is determined to take her $300 Audi build project to the Summit of Pikes Peak in 2013. Savannah co-founded Fingers Crossed Racing with her now husband in Fall of 2011.

The 2012 race season also included Savannah’s partnership with the Glass Hammer Racing program based out of Indianapolis, Indian. Through the relationship with Glass Hammer Racing, Savannah was given the opportunity to compete with the Intercontinental Trophy Cup series driving a Porsche Cayman for the Isringhausen Racing Team.

When Savannah isn’t racing, she enjoys traveling, writing, being with friends, and is a major movie buff. Savannah is a very dedicated student. She graduated a semester early from High School in December 2010, and is working towards a marketing degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She works out on a regular basis to keep at her physical best.

My Life at Speed Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Chris Nazarenus, had a chance meeting with key executives at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1998. It would be the "Jerry McGuire" moment that would change her life forever. Although she knew nothing about motorsports at that time, the chance meeting would influence her passion for all things fast, great stories and interesting people. That's what you will find here at My Life at Speed.
