It hasn’t yet been a full day since the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and we’re still trying to wrap our heads around the demolition of the speed record by Sébastien Loeb. Many predicted that Loeb would surpass the 9m46.164s set by Rhys Millen last year, but the Frenchman’s time of 8m13.878s was more like annihilation (or any other word to be found in the Thesaurus). Even as the race was winding down, journalists and commentators speculated as to what was next for this man, who has won nine WRC championships; and laid waste to the star-studded GRC field at X Games Los Angeles last year.

In the meantime, we prefer to do what he’s probably doing right now; which is to soak in every moment of his achievement. Here are videos from Peugeot’s YouTube Channel that give great insight into how much work went into the design and build of a machine with one sole purpose – conquer Pikes Peak. We salute Peugeot Sport and congratulate them all on a fantastic, truly historic performance! Félicitations!
