At the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche’s billboards declaring, “Mission 2014. Our Return.” were all over the race course. This bold statement heralded their return to racing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) LMP1 class. They secured a podium finish in the 6 Hours of Silverstone behind the two Toyota TS 040 – Hybrids. It’s being heralded as a success for the German manufacturer and shows that they are poised to not only return but to win.
