All is well in the motorsports world.  Simultaneous championship series are in full swing, while old and new rivalries are raging with renewed vigor.  In the midst of all this, momentum has begun to build for Pikes Peak 2013.  Our own commander-in-chief, Greg Tracy, will make history by piloting an electric racing bike in the “Race to the Clouds” just as a living rally legend prepares to conquer America’s Mountain.

Sébastien Loeb is winding down his WRC career and beginning a new one in the FIA GT Championship for McLaren.  However, as he shared in a recent blog post, “I had this race in a back corner of my mind for a long time now…” but now that thought has become reality, and this is what he’ll be driving to do it.  Flying Finn Ari Vatanen, set the 1988 world record for the Unlimited Division in a 405 T16.  His run was captured in a film called Climb Dance by Jean Louis Morey.  Robby Unser took the 405 T16 won the race in 1989, but didn’t break Vatanen’s record.

Red Bull’s teaser photos of the Peugeot 208 T16 from a Paris photo shoot have been revealed, and it is quite a machine!  According to Car Scoops, Peugeot Sport will fully reveal the car and its specs on Monday April 15, 2013.  You can be sure that we here at My Life at Speed, will be keeping our eyes peeled and ears open, for any information that we can find for you.  Stay tuned!
