From Ferrari USA:

June 25, 2014 (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.) – In a track seeped with history for Ferrari, the teams and drivers racing Ferrari 458 Italias at this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours at the Glen will be looking write new chapters of that history.

Ferrari’s legacy of winning at Watkins Glen International, located in Watkins Glen, New York, includes victory in the 1972 Six Hours for drivers Mario Andretti and Jacky Ickx in the Ferrari 312 PB. The famous MOMO Ferrari 333 SP of Gianpiero Moretti won at Watkins Glen three times – in 1994 partnered with Eliseo Salazar, in 1996 partnered with Max Papis, and in 1998 partnered with Didier Theys and Mauro Baldi.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen also marks not only the sixth round of the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, but the third round of the Patron North American Endurance Championship. Fisichella is fresh from victory in a Ferrari 458 Italia in the GT-LeMans class at the 24 Hours of LeMans, and he and Kaffer scored the best result of the year for Risi Competizione in the previous TUDOR Championship GT-LeMans round at Laguna Seca. A hard-fought race saw them take third in their Ferrari.
